Tuesday Tune-Up - April 19th

Hello and welcome to Mindful Monday Tuesday Tune-Up!

“Every moment is a fresh beginning.“
T.S. Eliot

Oh hell yes! New beginning, new beginning, new beginning… Love it.

Last Friday I listened to The Cycling Podcast’s tribute to their founding member Richard Moore after his sudden passing a couple of weeks earlier; he was 48. Richard’s colleagues shared their stories and memories of him and how he’d impacted their lives through the course of their friendships. It was a beautiful (yet tragic) reminder that we often don’t know how far reaching a kind word of encouragement or thoughtful act may be or how far it may travel. You can listen to a beautiful 90 mins of humanity here.

I can do better.
We can all do better.

Chew your food
Chewing your food properly – around 30 times – has many benefits. Not only does it literally help breakdown the food ready for digestion, but it also sends a signal to the body that nutrition is coming and primes the body to receive it. Oh, it also helps keep teeth healthy by producing more saliva. Read more here.

… And 30. :)

The oldest eating habits
A recent study looked at the eating habits of six centenarians and then even more closely at the specific diet of the only person to live to 122. The good news? Red wine, olive oil and chocolate featured highly – yay!

TED’s new mics
Speakers at TED are now enjoying the new and improved microphone headset designed by Sennheiser. The redesign needed to be super clear, super cool, but not too cool. Read more here to find out how they balanced the form and function.

Tunes for your Tuesday
New music for the week comes from Lucius with their new album, Second Nature. Slightly retro, disco vibes – ideal tunes to the ease into the new week. Make sure to check out their cover of Right Down the Line and their collaboration with War On Drugs, I Don’t Live Here Anymore. Rock on.

Have a wonderful week, spread some joy and smile. I wonder how far it will travel…

Big love,
Luke
