Mindful Monday - October 25th

Good morning and happy 25th October, 2021 – we only get this date once so let’s make it a good one!

And here are a few more reasons to be happy, enjoy! :)

Succession
Season three of Succession finally dropped last week. This intense drama is often referred to as the best thing on TV right now (yep, better than Squid Game) for good reason. It follows the antics of a mega-rich family as they jostle for position to take control of the family’s global media conglomerate. You love to hate all the characters and the theme music is perfect. Get on board here.

Light plants
Nature and technology meet here for a glimpse into the future of natural lighting. Scientists have developed a way to allow plants to store and release light by glowing at night.

Thank you, nature. Thank you, science.

Haka protected
The traditional Maori dance known as the Ka Mate haka has (finally) officially been recognised and protected against imitation and commercial exploitation as part of the recently signed UK-New Zealand free trade agreement. Now the real action can stay on the pitch.

Speedo diplomacy
Sure, wild swimming has certainly taken off this past 18 months or so, but swimming through ice certainly is next level. Lewis Pugh swam 7.8km across the Ilulissat Icefjord in Greenland to bring awareness to the importance of ice to global climate.

News flash: ice helps keep the planet cool. Simples.

Lewis will be sharing his story and experiences at COP26 in Glasgow next month. Hopefully he’s heard.

Cards expire – species shouldn’t
To help bring more awareness to endangered species, MasterCard has teamed up with Conservation International to release this set of Debit Cards featuring animals that need our help. Gorgeous photos of African Elephants, Sunda Pangolins, Yellow-tailed Woolly Monkeys and Black-and-White Ruffed Lemurs are ready for your wallet/purse.

Have a fab week everyone!

Big love,
Luke
