Mindful Monday - November 29th

Good morning and welcome to the festive season!

Perhaps it’s the lingering disappointment and frustration from last year that has prompted an ambitious and marginally early launch into end-of-year celebrations but, be that as it may, we find ourselves once more taking stock (and Christmas stockings) of another year. The next month can be one of fun, anticipation and reflection, however you choose to embrace it.

And yes, there’s still time to build some healthy habits before the year’s out and start 2022 with some wind in your sails….

Festive Health
Of course, December brings many opportunities to socialise, party, eat, drink and be merry – but that doesn’t mean your health needs to take a big hit. Our previous Festive Season Survival Guide still holds true for the most part and is well worth a quick read.

I think perhaps it’s still worth mentioning that, for a wide range of reasons, not everyone is completely on the same page when it comes to Covid safety measures and precautions. So in the interest of a mindful and respectful festive season, it may prove wise to politely enquire about your fellow partygoers’ hopes and expectations before leaning in for a hug and kiss.

Bookworm gift guide
The über frosty folk over at Coolhunting have been kind enough to put together this rather fab gift guide for the resident bookworm in your family. Kids, adults, chefs, artists… there’s something for everyone.

Dave Grohl wrote a book
Continuing the literary thread, Dave Grohl wrote a book and it’s a good one. In The Storyteller: Tales of Life and Music he writes about his life and times with some of the biggest names in the music world (of which he is well and truly one of) and reflects on a body of work that continues to evolve. Not just for the fan, this is a book for anyone who might enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at some of music’s biggest names.

The ethical gift guide
Our ever-positive friends over at Positive.news have scoured the web come up with this truly positive and ethical gift guide. Books, experiences, cool collaborations are just the beginning – there’s something for everyone, including the hardest person to buy for. Smile. :)

The Five-Minute Journal - for kids
Designed specifically to help young minds focus on the good things in their lives, this illustrated journal also helps preserve lifelong memories. Nice one.

Have a great week and remember to look after your health this festive season.

Big love,
Luke
