Mindful Monday - November 15th

Good morning and thank you for joining us for another Mindful Monday.

We’re going to kick things off this week with some words of wisdom from Raghunath (Ray) Cappo

“Make a list of things that make you happy.
Make a list of things you do every day.
Compare the list.
Adjust accordingly.”

Woah, how good is that?!?!

I mean, really, that is soooooo good.

I reckon there are a couple of ways we can apply this. One way might be to incorporate more of the things that make you happy into your day – sounds simple enough, perhaps with some planning and tweaking of your schedule, or reprioritising your time and space, you can fit more fun stuff in. I think, on some level, we already know this and probably go through phases of moving towards this.

Another interpretation could be to find happiness in the things we’re already doing every day. This could be a little more challenging, especially if we feel we spend a lot of time doing relatively mundane things or find ourselves living for the weekend. Any of this sound familiar?

So, here’s this week’s challenge: find two things that you don’t usually enjoy doing and find a way to bring a smile to your face whilst doing them.

Let’s face it, you’ve got a bunch of stuff to do anyway, so you may as well be happy (and grateful!?) in the process.

Screen-less audio entertainment for kids
Yoto is pumping out these great devices that lets kids listen and learn without cameras, screens, microphones or adverts. Podcasts, stories and music are all available, and you can even make your own mixtapes. Christmas is coming…

Global philosophies to live (and love) by
Japanese wabi-sabi (letting go of perfection) sounds wonderful… Or perhaps a little Swedish fika – coffee, friends, no e-mails in sight, yes please! Maybe we could all do with a bit of Chinese wu wei – going with the ebb and flow of life…

And finaly, in the interest in putting a great big smile on your face this very moment, please click here to see 30 Animals That Look Like They’re About to Drop the Hottest Albums of the Year(I think #13 Emo Rabbit is my favourite – Ed.)

Have a great week finding the daily fun! :)

Big Love,
Luke
