Mindful Monday - January 17th

Happy Mindful Monday!

Well, we’re another week into 2022 and the world remains as eventful as ever. Distractions aplenty as it were. The competition amongst those vying for your attention is constantly ramping up with companies looking for any and every opportunity to get their message and/or product in front of you. For this reason alone, please accept our gratitude for allowing our little email into your inbox on a Monday morning – we don’t take it for granted.

Healthy boundaries for ourselves, friends, family, and clients have never been so important, yet remain uniquely personal to all of us.

“If you don’t take responsibility for how you fill up your time and space, someone else will.”
- John Demartini

Wise words indeed.

Have you given yourself time to contemplate who and what you allow into your time and space this year? If not, I can’t think of a more worthwhile exercise to do this morning over a lovely cup of tea or coffee.

When to exercise?
Speaking of exercise… ever wondered when is the best time to train? Yeah, me too. While I still subscribe to the notion that the best workout is the one I’ve actually done (and not just thought about), I also think the best time to work out is whenever I actually do. But the wise team over at Form Nutrition have dug a little deeper and put together this excellent breakdown of when is best to train. Time to get planning!

Cultivating a wellness mindset
Ok, so perhaps you’d like to make some positive changes in your life but you’re not sure where to start and the world seems a bit weird and overwhelming right now. Sound familiar?

LiveKindly has put together this great little read to help you get started. It includes how to get your head around climate change anxiety, the benefits of cooking and how to start a mindful garden at home. It’s going to be ok.

Climate optimism
Following on from managing climate change anxiety, here’s a wonderful Vice article exploring what climate researchers are optimistic about. Turns out coral reefs are quite resilient, mountains are tough, and the Amazon rainforest destruction is easing.

Let’s aim for a balanced view and keep moving in a positive direction.

“Do less but do better.”

Have a great week and thank you for reading.

Big love,
Luke
