Thoughtful Thursday - August 12th

Another week down – 20 weeks till 2022! WILD!! We welcome two more new chiros to our teams, give you all the important holiday dates, and it's finally here – our last instalment of Vertebra of the Week!

Clinic Updates
Another “no news is kinda good news”. Still in the throes of people needing to isolate, including some of our team – thank you to any clients that have been affected by this and have been super chill to see someone else in their usual practitioner’s absence. I know the front of house teams are very grateful!

Fulham has moved – last one, I promise!
Wandsworth Bridge Road is now massage only and we are still running our £20 off offer for anyone who quotes this email and comes in before the end of August for a bit of pampering, or a muscular workout!

All chiro appointments are at Marvic House. Hoping everyone has been enjoying the vast open space as much as we have!

Please head here for how to find us/details.

New Chiros
Two more new faces are joining our team from Monday!

Please welcome Georgie De La Cour, who’ll be joining Team Fulham. Georgie grew up in the south of England before moving to Spain to complete her higher education. After experiencing the benefits of being regularly adjusted, she decided to enrol at the AECC in Bournemouth, where she learnt and fell in love with the simplistic and logical concepts of chiropractic.

Meanwhile at PutneyGareth Jones is joining the team to help out over the summer. Aussie by birth, Gareth has previously practised in the UK and New Zealand and has now returned to continue his worldly chiropractic journey.

Don’t be afraid to say hi if you see them around, and give the reception teams a call if you’d like to give them a whirl!

Vertebra of the Week
Welcome to our last instalment of Vertebra of the Week! That's right, after 25 vertebrae we've finally made it to the ultimate pointy end. A big thank you to Michael from Team Tooting for teaching us all about the spine, and we hope you've enjoyed learning about the importance of each vertebra and its connecting nerves.

So here it is, the final piece of the spinal puzzle!

The coccyx
The coccyx, or tailbone, is the last remnants of a tail, so to speak. For humans, it is three to five small bones that have fused and only have a small joint between the sacrum. It can bend forwards and backwards and move a little sideways.

Can it go out of alignment? Most definitely it can!

Most people will have had a trauma of some sort to it – the most common being childbirth, where it moves backwards and out of the way. But it can be hurt due to a fall onto the buttocks or sitting for too long in bad positions as well. This will lead to tightness in the ligaments attaching to it and it can become tender and difficult to sit or even go to the bathroom.

That’s it from me. Take care of yourselves – watch that coccyx! – and enjoy the pampering if you book in for a massage.
