Mindful Monday - May 16th

Good morning! I hope this little email finds you well and content after a fun weekend.

"It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you'll do things differently.”
Warren Buffett

Slow and steady is more often than not the most effective way forward in the long term. Modern society seems to have persuaded many of us that short-term gains are more important than building something worthwhile that will stand the test of time. This can be applied to business, healthy habits, relationships… nearly anything.

Take a couple of minutes this morning to reflect on where you might be approaching a situation looking for quick fixes or gains that may well be better served with a longer-term approach. What is likely to serve you and others better?

Pen and paper, guys. 😊

Looking at the stars
Perspective is a wonderful thing. This website allows you to zoom in and out of our solar system for a seriously different view of the world. Inspiring and humbling at the same time.

100 tools for an easier life
The clever folk over at DO Lectures have been at it again and put together this pretty fab list of 100+ things to make life easier. Something to come back to when you have a few minutes. 😊

Used nappies, what are they good for?
Well, believe it or not, the answer might be fixing roads! A Welsh firm has found a way to put some of the 3-billion-per-year disposed-of nappies in the UK to work, literally. By converting them into a fibre that’s then mixed into the road bitumen, nappy recycling is gaining traction. Nice one (the process, not the pun)! Read more here.

Recycled sneakers
Speaking of recycling, Nike has unleashed a couple of trainers that can be disassembled and more easily reused. They’ve even reduced the amount of glue and other bonding processes in the, er, process. Another step forward. Funky, what do you think?

Have a great week, guys, and let’s think long-term benefits…

Big love,
Luke

P.S. In the spirit of long-term benefits, I’m considering making these emails more of a monthly thing. Please let me know what you think?
