Work Injuries

Workplace injuries refer to any injury or illness that has been caused by factors in your place of work. They can be the result of a one off accident, from performing repetitive tasks, or from mild but continuous strain on a particular part of the body. They can affect people in any industry and can manifest in many different ways.

The most common workplace injuries include repetitive strain injuries and back and neck problems from poor lifting techniques. Poor posture is also a common complaint and can come as a result of sitting for long periods of time and hunching over a computer. Performing the same task repeatedly can also place strain on different parts of your body, while stress in the workplace can manifest itself in multiple health issues.

Workplace injury symptoms vary enormously depending on the job you do and the hazards that are involved. However, common symptoms include headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, bursitis, tendonitis and many more.

Our chiropractic team are highly experienced in treating workplace injuries and realise that each one is specific to you and the job you do. We would start by assessing both the injury and the cause, before moving on to gentle manipulations in order to reduce pain and/or increase movement at the site of the injury.

The treatment will often involve spinal manipulations in order to increase the flow of information from the central nervous system to the rest of the body. This is one of the core aspects of chiropractic, by improving the function of the central nervous system, the body’s ability to self heal is improved.

As well as eliminating the symptoms of your workplace injury, we will also advise you on the best ways to avoid a relapse in the future. As a result, not only will you feel better, your work will become more enjoyable too!
