Tim Brabants wins 2 medals in Beijing

Tim Brabants K1 1000m Champion We are proud to work with Tim Brabants, World Champion 2007 and now gold medalist at the Beijing Olympics in the K1 1000m. Tim had already won himself a bronze medal in the Sydney Olympics in 2000 at the 1000m distance, and this time was determined to bring home a different colour!

Beijing Success
Tim’s training has been full on and with careful preparation, good nutrition and chiropractic care, Tim was on tip top form for the summer Olympics and all the hard work paid off as he powered his way to victory to take Olympic Gold.

Following the medal ceremony, Tim sent us this email:

“Hi Craig, One down, one to go. Still in shock after winning yesterday even though I knew I was fast enough to and was one of the favourites, it’s just a dream come true. Just wanted to quickly say thank you very, very much for your generous support over the last two years. You’ve been an essential part of the team that has been behind me, getting me to this stage. Really appreciate all your efforts. I’ll be in to PCC soon after I get back with the medal (and another one if I manage it in the 500 final). Again, many thanks.”

Double medals
The next day Tim showed he is truly a force to be reckoned with as he paddled his was to a bronze medal position, literally cms off his Canadian rival in a thrilling race. When it counted, Tim still had the strength to pull something out of the bag at the end of the race, and his experience showed as he held on and looked strong and confident to the last stroke.

Once the closing ceremony was over, the boats were all packed up the althletes headed home. Tim sent us this from the BA flight home!

We’re going to have to celebrate hard when I get back! You’ve been a great part in helping me achieve this Olympic dream. Look forward to seeing you all when I get back. Writing this e-mail from the comfort of my first class seat on the BA flight home. I am a lucky boy! See you soon, Tim.
