We hosted our Just Start Walking event on September 18th in Putney in conjunction with the Chiropractors Association of Australia’s ‘Just Start Walking Australia’ campaign. The official date falls on World Spine Day on October 16th, but we decided to hold our event in September to take advantage of the beautiful autumnal weather! The mission was to get as many of our clients, family and friends out and walking their way to a healthier lifestyle.
It was a beautiful morning when we gathered at our practice in Putney, ready for a 5.32 km walk by the River Thames to Hammersmith Bridge. We were delighted when 40 people arrived to take part, mostly practice members and their family and friends. Following a brief introduction about Just Start Walking, we led a quick warm up session outside the practice where we attracted much attention doing stretches on the pavement.
Then we were off! Some moved off quickly, while others with prams and young children followed behind at a more leisurely pace. It was a wonderful opportunity for our clients to get to know each other, and a great opportunity for us to talk to them about the benefits of health and chiropractic.
Upon our return, our favourite local coffee shop Grind had donated a free cup of coffee for all participants. As a door prize for one lucky practice member, Profeet had kindly donated a free gait assessment and pair of running shoes.
A great time was had by all, we can’t wait to do the same again soon! Everyone is welcome.
