Sophie Hosking, the London 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist in the lightweight womens double scull has been celebrating at her native London Rowing Club and Drs Luke Brady, Craig McLean and Mrs Gail McLean were there to help. It was a great night and provided a great insight into the thoughts of the rowers as they gave a stroke by stroke commentary of their Olympic finals. Can you believe that one of the reasons why no-one could come close to Sophie and Kat were because their average rating over the three races at London 2012 was 39 strokes a minute (that’s quite fast – try it next time on the ergo).
London RC had representatives rowing in the mens 8, the womens 8, the lightweight mens 4 and the lightweight womens double scull, quite a strong club, huh?Sophie and Pearsoncycles.
After the Olympics died down we managed to get Sophie out for a ride (in Putney Chiro colours) only to be embarrassed that such a successful sports woman was riding such a crappy bike. So I called Guy Pearson, and hooked Sophie and the Pearson cycles team up and the end result in a bike befitting an Olympic Champion. I love it when a plan comes together. Watch out for Sophie cruising the streets on her new black and white Pearson’s machine! www.pearsoncycles.co.uk
