Swimming to freedom
On the 12th July Edwina proved that it really is possible to ‘escape from Alcatraz’ when she successfully competed in the Alcatraz Challenge in San Francisco, California.
Freezing temperatures, strong currents, foggy conditions, and sharky waters weren’t enough to deter her, and she finished the crossing in 46 mins 39.2 seconds – 7th place in her age category!
More swimming success
Edwina also competed successfully with the West London Masters Swimming Club at the Barnett Copthall Masters Sprint Meet, her first short course competition in many years. She will also be doing a 3km open water race on 12th September at Dorney Lake, Eton.
