Craig McLean graduated from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (R.M.I.T) Australia in 1994 and took over Putney Chiropractic Centre (est. 1986) in 2002. He has transformed Putney into one of the leading Chiropractic practices in the UK and with the 2009 move and expansion a new level of health care excellence was achieved that provides a fun, friendly and caring environment. He is covered by most private health insurance companies including BUPA and PPP.

You may have read about DC McLean in The Telegraph’s or the Guardian’s travel section as a ‘ski injury expert’ or heard him on Radio 5 Live discussing the Queen’s back condition.

Sports Chiropractic Expertise
Craig is a chiropractor to the GB canoeing team and has had the pleasure of working with Tim Brabants, the 2008 Olympic gold medalist in the K1 1000m and the bronze medalist in the K1 500m flat water kayak. He is experienced in skiing biomechanics and is part of the Biomechanics and Physiology team for the Warren Smith Ski Academy and you’ll find him on the ‘ask the expert’ section of the Ski Club of Great Britain’s website.

Craig understands what it takes to train and compete in various sports. He completed the 2010 Olympic distance Windsor Triathlon and finished 104 out of 2000 competitors, with a time of 2hrs 19 mins. He has gained his 3rd cat cycling racing license and competes in the occasional closed circuit road or time-trial race (PB 25 miles of 55.30) under the London Dynamo jersey. In 2011 he headed to Italy for the mountainous 200km Nove Colli.

Craig also has golf handicap of 12 and has recently qualified as a Level 1 Titleist Golf Medical professional, is a back country free skier, has a history of competitive school boy rowing, is a really bad tennis player and had one game of lawn bowls in 2008.

Pregnancy, babies and family Chiropractic Expertise

Craig has a special interest in pregnancy and paediatrics. He has a network of contacts of independent midwives in the local area and has undergone post graduate study in Chiropractic Paediatrics. He now has first hand knowledge and experience on how to promote optimal comfort during pregnancy and help babies sleep and feed well after the birth of his son in 2007 and his daughter in 2009.

Craig grew up in Ballarat, Victoria and first came to the UK in 2001. Planning to stay a couple of years, he found it to his liking and has been here ever since. He has made his home in London and now has an English wife and two international kids who love the UK and Australia. Having experienced a disc herniation himself, Craig understands what others with discomfort are going through.
