Yukon
Arctic Ultra 2009
Dr Carlyle Jenkins, having conquered
London Marathons and the 100km Trailwalker Ultra Marathon
is now heading off in February to attempt the Yukon Arctic
Ultra - the most extreme endurance footrace in the world.
Covering 515kms (12.5 marathons) non-stop over 6 days in temperatures
down to -30C.
Champion fund raisers
He joins Team Helmut Adventure Racing Team whose founding
members are Simon Bayliff (PCC patient) , Jules Bartlett and
Andy Pocock. Team Helmut has raised over £250,000 since 2000.
This event is dedicated to Breast Cancer Care a support charity
for sufferers and families. Simon's Mum, Janice (pictured
below) was helped by them in her recovery from breast cancer
last year.

The serious training has
begun
The boys are training 6 days a week and will regularly be
seen dragging tyres around Richmond Park. Silly, but necessary.
The sponsorship goal is £50,000 and they are 1/5 of the way
there, so jump
on their site and donate here.
Due to the time involved in training for this fabulous project
and to give it the dedication it deserves, Dr Carlyle will
be taking a sabbatical for a few months to get himself into
tip top shape for the Yukon.
