Dr Craig offers advice to the Queen
Well, we don't know for sure that
she was listening, but this week Dr Craig was invited to appear
on national Radio Five Live to comment on how to best look
after your back.
Specialist advice
The request came following the news that the Queen had had
to
turn down an engagement to visit Arsenal football ground
due to back pain, apparently due to a pulled muscle.
The show was presented by Anita Anand and is described as
"An offbeat take on news, sport and politics". The
segment was aired live just after 11pm.
The full story
The
story was reported on the BBC:
"The Queen cancelled a trip to Arsenal's new multi-million
pound stadium after suffering a back injury. Buckingham Palace
said she could not visit the north London Emirates ground
because she has strained a muscle.
A spokeswoman for Buckingham Palace said earlier: "Her Majesty
the Queen has reluctantly agreed to cancel a visit to Arsenal
football stadium today due to a strained muscle in her back.
"Doctors advised Her Majesty to reduce her workload today
and will review her progress on a daily basis. The strained
muscle was sustained at the end of the Balmoral period and
has not improved during a busy two weeks of engagements."
Dr Craig recommended that taking it easy was great, but that
keeping moving was also very important, and that it sounded
as if the Queen was doing everything possible to ensure rapid
recovery.
Since the broadcast, the Queen has also cancelled
a visit to the races, although she is going to attend
the birthday lunch. So she is keeping active but avoiding
the standing around. Maybe she was listening last night!
